CoreSinging
  Announcing .....CoreSinging™

To offer a natural, simple, and enjoyable approach to singing, using ground breaking techniques enabling singers at any stage in their development to sing with confidence, reach new levels of achievement, and create compelling performances that heal both singer and audience.

Drawing on experiences in the oriental mystic arts and healing energies, a revolutionary approach to singing has been created. It will raise any performer and performance, whether newcomers to the stage or an experienced performer looking to retain and enhance their power of performance.

The basic CoreSinging™ course consists of a unit of three days that are to be taken consecutively. Teachers and singers who have attended Meribeth’s workshops have had immediate positive results for themselves and their students.

  • Introduction to CoreSinging™
  • Dynamic balance.
  • Understanding and using all the dimensions of the human energy field

Please Note: CoreSinging™ is designed to complement any system or method of singing, not replace it.

Dynamic balance
Using concepts of Qigong and Taichi, dynamic balance is a way of directing energy to balance the body for singing.

Understanding the dimensions of the human energy field
The current emphasis on the physical aspects of singing are insufficient and limiting. To have real impact, we need to include all the dimensions.

Breathing through the energy field
The energy field is large, porous and breathes as a unit. When we take away the conscious physical emphasis on how we breathe and allow the subconscious to take the air needed, there is a marked increase in sound quality and ability to sustain sound.

Spontaneous song-making and “Scatty conversations”
By beginning with “musical conversations” with oneself or the teacher or a group, barriers of expectation and assumption begin to fall away. Creating your own songs spontaneously, much like children, is playful and removes self-judgement and the preoccupation with the possibility of failure.

Practice makes perfect?... Or does it?.. Or how can it?
A look at the ways performers approach practice and how to make it meaningful and efficient.

Imagination Unlimited
Imagination drives the voice and performance. Using some simple techniques for accessing and expressing onomatopoetic aspects and the emotion of the song will allow singers to be natural in performance. Fear disappears and compelling performance ensues.

Meribeth Dayme, PhD, creator of CoreSinging™ is a recognized authority on singing and the human voice, a performance coach, master class leader, speaker, and author. Her fascinating master classes and books on singing are the result of many years teaching and performing, studying Alexander technique, anatomy, dance and movement, and variety of ancient and modern healing systems. A former university professor of singing and anatomy, her books Dynamics of the Singing Voice (5th Edition 2009), The Singing Book (with C Vaughn), Creating Confidence and The Performer’s Voice embody her mission to help performers sing easily, healthily and joyfully.

”Meribeth's Masterclass at the RNCM was astounding. She taught with a simplicity and truthfulness that can only come from profound understanding... students made extraordinary, immediate, and lasting transformations”.
Susan Roper, Director of Vocal Studies, Royal Northern College of Music

”Then we were at the feet of another master….all I would say at this point is that if you haven’t yet done so, then make every effort you can to listen to her ‘live’ ”.

From AOTOS UK Journal of Singing

”There is a wholistic joy about her work that inspires performers and listeners alike… Her spontaneity/authority balance is superb, and I am convinced that my experience of her work has deepened and enriched my own vocal coaching more than that of any other single influence in recent years”.
Robin Bowman, Former Head of Vocal Studies, Guildhall School of Music and Drama

”Meribeth has transformed my (whole) approach to singing”.
Nancy Argenta, soprano, International concert artist

”…unrivalled understanding of the vocal instrument, she appears to achieve near-miracles in freeing the sound”.
Hazel Wood, past president AOTOS (UK)

Not only am I more confident as a performer and person, but my vocal technique, breath, and alignment have changed significantly. I believe that your intuitive work helped me be more loving and forgiving in my singing”.
Aaron Ferguson, Tenor, Canada

“She introduced a new awareness that helped me to and to trust my own gifts and abilities. I noticed immediate changes with my health, my awareness of self and as well as in my singing voice. I recommend her sessions to anyone interested in the whole aspect of singing and how it relates to the vast world around us”.
Cari Burdett, Joy Through Music, Canada

“I felt immediately comfortable about working with you from our first conversation. Since our sessions I have successfully performed at a number of public events and auditions and am feeling entirely better about the whole thing. I found it very easy to implement your recommendations and they are making a noticeable difference to not only my performance, but also to how much I enjoy practicing”.
Lisa Carlisle, UK
